Nexus builds out US financial lines team with Simmons hire

MGA Nexus Group has added Bruce Simmons to its US specialty platform as vice president – management and professional liability.

Nexus said the hire builds on the successful launch of the new financial lines division, providing a full suite of management and professional liability products including miscellaneous professional liability, D&O, employment practices, fidelity, fiduciary, employed lawyers and cyber all written on a primary or excess basis.

Nexus added that the launch of its financial lines business comes as the market has hardened and capacity is strained, highlighting that it is “well placed to deliver an exceptional service offering to their broker partners”.

Prior to joining Nexus, Simmons was most recently chief underwriting officer of MGA Zon Re LLC and his career has included roles at Gen Re, Allied World and Axa XL, all within the management and professional liability sphere.
