EY: Covid drives UK motor insurers to record 2020 but u/w losses expected in 2021/22

UK motor insurers posted a record 90.3 percent net combined ratio last year as a result of fewer vehicles on the road due to Covid-19 lockdowns, however carriers are expected to fall back into the underwriting red by 2021, a study by EY has found.
