Aon-WTW call off $30bn deal over DoJ impasse

Aon and Willis Towers Watson have mutually agreed to terminate their $30bn combination agreement after hitting an impasse with US regulator the Department of Justice, with Aon to pay the $1bn break-up fee to its smaller rival and the firms set to move forward independently.
