Idalia may strengthen to Cat 4 but major Tampa loss scenario “mainly off the table”

Gallagher Re chief science officer Steve Bowen has warned that Hurricane Idalia strengthening to a Category 4 storm is “entirely plausible”, while BMS Group senior meteorologist Andrew Siffert added that a potential major loss to the Tampa region is “mainly off the table” with the impact likely retained by insurers.
