Judge approves Boy Scouts’ $850mn settlement but rules Hartford deal cannot be scrapped

The judge in the Boy Scouts of America’s bankruptcy proceedings has signed off an $850mn settlement of sexual abuse claims but left in place a $650mn deal the organisation had previously made with The Hartford to settle its claims with the insurer.
