Norfolk Southern carriers exposed to East Palestine derailment above $75mn retention

Norfolk Southern has outlined the insurance it has in place to cover losses related to the derailment in East Palestine, Ohio – including a liability policy with up to $1.1bn of coverage and a property policy up to $275mn – while the US EPA has ordered it to clean up all environmental damage caused and a class action lawsuit has been filed against the company.
