Perth Hills bushfire claims hit A$40mn as ICA declares blaze ‘a catastrophe’

Bushfires that continue to burn north-east of Perth on Australia’s west coast have already generated claims estimated at A$40mn ($30.7mn) with the figure expected to rise as residents return home, according to the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA).
