RLI CR improves to 81.5% in Q2 earnings beat

US specialty insurer RLI Corp has reported an earnings beat for the second quarter in results that included a 5.7 point improvement in the combined ratio to 81.5 percent and an 11 percent increase in gross premiums written to $563.4mn.
