Walmart claim could reach $500mn in total, exposing severe undervaluation

The fire at a Walmart distribution centre in Indiana last month could leave insurers footing a $500mn bill across three different policies, and is being viewed in the market as the latest example of property underwriters facing losses far higher than the value reported when coverage was bound, The Insurer can reveal.
