Everest Re names Schiattone as global head of financial risk
Everest has appointed Marco Schiattone as Everest Reinsurance’s global head of financial risk.
The firm said Schiattone would lead a unified underwriting strategy focused on addressing the most complex risks facing clients and brokers.
Zurich-based Schiattone brings more than two decades of global credit and financial risk leadership experience and will report to head of international reinsurance Artur Klinger.
Schiattone most recently led PartnerRe’s Latin America and Southern Europe financial risk business and served as product leader for its medium long-term credit and political risks portfolio.
Prior to PartnerRe, Schiattone held a number of credit, surety and political risks underwriting roles, including at Arch Re, Ariel Re, Swiss Re, Sace and Generali.
On the appointment, Klinger said: “[Schiattone’s] extensive global financial risk expertise and deep global relationship network is key to driving growth opportunities as we continue to deepen our foothold in markets around the world.”
The move adds to recent senior Everest additions including the hire of AIG’s Melissa McDermott as global chief actuary for the group’s insurance division.
