#ReinsuranceMonth 2023: the highlights
This year’s #ReinsuranceMonth officially concluded over the weekend, bringing to a close another packed month of reinsurance content which will set the scene for the upcoming 1.1 renewals.
The annual Rendez-Vous in Monte Carlo – back for a second successive year following an enforced break due to Covid-19 – saw the industry gather to debate the issues which are set to shape renewal discussions.
Property catastrophe terms and conditions were high on the agenda as discussions focused on how to address the lower layers vacated by reinsurers at recent renewals. The need for alternative solutions was highlighted and will remain a key area of broker focus in the run-up to 1.1.
Concerns over US casualty – which is yet to see the same level of rate hardening as the property market – investor appetite and the potential for new start-ups were also among the key talking points in Monte Carlo.
The Insurer once again produced four bumper daily editions packed with news, data, analysis and thought leadership to mark the event. Those who didn’t get a chance to read these in full at the time can access the PDF versions online.
The run-up to the event saw the return of our Pre-Monte Carlo Forum, while we also hosted two executive roundtables during the event. See below for coverage.
The Insurer TV team also had a busy #ReinsuranceMonth with more than 40 interviews across the month, including at our pop-up studio suite in Monte Carlo’s iconic Hôtel de Paris.
These, and all of our other exclusive #ReinsuranceMonth content, can still be viewed online through our #ReinsuranceMonth hub.
The end of #ReinsuranceMonth does not mark the end of our reinsurance coverage – The Insurer team will be out in force at all the major conferences in the run-up to the January renewals. We look forward to seeing you there.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors who have made #ReinsuranceMonth possible, as well as our valued readers.
And that’s… a wrap!
